TIMELESS RIDDLES

The activity is designed to enhance students' reading comprehension through the use of different verb tenses in the context of riddles. The riddles are organized into sections based on the grammatical content you want to work on or reinforce:

• Present tense (Present Simple, Present Continuous, Present Perfect)
• Past tense (Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect)
• Future structures (‘will’, ‘going to’, Future Continuous, Future Perfect)

Divide the class into small groups and display the riddles on the board. After students solve each riddle, encourage them to analyze the verb structures used, identifying their function within the context.

You can also ask them to create their own riddles to apply the content creatively and practically.
