WORD LADDER

Word Ladder is a fun and engaging word game originally popularised by Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The game involves transforming one word into another by changing, removing, rearranging or adding letters. Carroll used word ladders as a playful way to explore the relationships between words and letters.

Players must think critically and creatively to figure out how to "ladder" their way from one word to another.

The difficulty of the word ladder can vary depending on the the ladder. The game includes 12 sets of Word Ladders adapted to different levels based on the players' proficiency in language. Each set includes the solution.

Uses in the Classroom:

• Pronunciation Practice: Word Ladder is an excellent game to work on pronunciation. As players change letters, they will have to pronounce each new word.
• Group or Individual Play: The game can be played individually or in groups. In a group setting, players can collaborate to solve the ladder, or they can race to complete it first.
• Fast Finishers: It’s a perfect activity for fast finishers, allowing them to stay engaged and challenge themselves while others work on their tasks.
